Pictures taken at our April 2019 Luncheon Meeting to Honor  Law Enforcement Personnel

The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal is presented to those who have served with distinction and devotion in the field of law enforcement. The medal is intended to recognize exceptional service or accomplishment in the field of law enforcement. Eligibility is not limited to peace officers but extends to the entire range of persons who make and enforce the law to include but not limited to peace officers, attorneys, judges, prosecutors and legislators who have performed an exceptional act or service beyond that normally expected.


Saramana President Doug Erb is in his Colonial Uniform and Saramana Treasurer and Law Enforcement Committee Chair is Tim Milligan.















The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee for the Sarasota Police Department. Accepting for Lt. Scott Mayforth, who could not be present, was Lt. Richie Schwieterman.















The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee for the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office was  Detective Ben Lubrano. Presenting Detective Lubrano was Lieutenant Adam Kaskey.














The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee for the Bradenton Police Department was Officer Christopher Hutchko. Presenting Officer Hutchko was Chief Melanie Bevan. Kimberly Quattlebaum was Offier Hutchko's guest.













The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee for the Manatee Sheriff's Department was Detective Rebecca Angel.  Presenting Detective Angel was Sergeant Brett Getman. Also shown is Judge Gilbert Smith. Judge Smith was awarded the Robert E. Burt Scout Volunteer Award Medal. This award can only be made by the National Society Sons of the American Revolution .
















The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee for the Palmetto Police Department was Detective Joe Rogers. Accepting the award for Detective Rogers is Chief Scott Tyler.














The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee for the Florida Highway Patrol is Corporal Kim Benevidas. Presenting Corporal Benevidas was Captain John Donavan. Corporal Benevidas's husband Rene Benevidas was also present.















The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee  for Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant George Taynton. Sergeant Taynton was presented by Lieutenant John Carvalho.

















The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal Awardee for the Longboat Key Police Department is Sergeant Lee Smith. Presenting Sergeant Smith was Captain Christopher Skinner.  Sergeant Smith's wife was also present.
