In August 2014, the Saramana SAR Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, requested that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Consumer Services, grant the Saramana Chapter a permanent exemption from registration under the Solicitation of Contributions Act.

National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (in this chapter, the ‘‘corporation’’) is a body corporate and politic in the District of Columbia.
On the National Society Sons of the American Revolution web site (https://www.sar.org/meet-sar/mission-goals), under “Patriotic Goals” we find:
• SAR honors, respects, and supports veterans, especially those confined to residential and hospital facilities provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Under Committees, we find the “Veterans Committee” and the “Veterans Recognition Committee”.

The National Society Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) received a federal charter under Title 36, USC. Saramana Chapter is a duly authorized chapter of the NSSAR since 1953. All federally chartered Title 36 organizations and their chapters are exempt from registering under Florida Statutes Chapter 496 (Solicitation Contributions Act).
The NSSAR is a tax exempt entity under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code since August 1944. As a subordinate organization of NSSAR, all donations to Saramana Chapter are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
